• Almirida beach, sun beds & sandy beach, restaurants, not exposed to wind, wind surf and other sea sport activities, 8 km
• Kalives beach, sun beds & sandy beach, restaurants, not exposed to wind , beach volley, 6km
• Kiani Akti, after Kalives 1 km towards Chania, sun beds & sandy beach, only one canteen, less crowded, not exposed to wind, long quiet beach for rackets players, 7 km
• Kera, between Kalives and Almirida, sandy beach, for those who don't like organized beaches, no sun beds and restaurants, not exposed to wind, 7 km
• Ombrogialos bay with gentle rocks & colourful sea, well marked, between Paleloni and Kefalas, one nice tavern with fresh fish, interesting sea for snorkelling, exposed to wind, 8 km
• Georgioupoli beach, very touristic, sun beds & long sandy beach, restaurants, exposed to wind, horse riding (sometime on the beach), 10 km
• west to Georgioupoli river, there is Kalivaki beach, protected form the wind, and driving east 1 km after the river and ugly hotels, more quiet parts on the long sandy beach), 10km

Beaches in west part of Chania

• Elafonisi Lagoon: one of the prettiest beaches, pinkish sand, shallow water, sun beds, restaurants, exposed to wind, and really crowded till 16: 00, this is the time to enjoy the place and later on sunset, 1 Β½ hour drive.
• Falaserna beach: a long nice sandy beach, sun beds, restaurants, exposed to wind, 11/4 hour drive.
• Balos Lagoon one of the nicest beaches of Crete and of Greece too. The water in the lagoon is shallow and warm. You may also swim out of the lagoon, where the water is deep, crystal-clear, much colder and good for snorkelling. You may access the beach:
  -on foot from Kalivianni village, in 3 hour walk
  -follow the dirt road (not so convenient for some cars), from Kaliyianni Village to the parking place and then walk 15 min.
  -by boat from Kissamos (40 min drive). The tickets can be provided in our office. This way you also visit Gramvousa Venetian fortress at the island Imeri Gramvoussa.
